The Detroit Speed control arm kit is a complete and comprehensive package. Detroit Speed has done all the engineering and testing, and supplies all parts needed to complete the installation. All you will need to do is follow the instructions and supply the grease. Installation should take less than one day and should be followed by a professional alignment.The Detroit Speed upper control arm kit is a bolt on enhancement for 1970-81 F-Body Camaro/Firebird/Trans Am. Suspension geometry is improved over stock by increasing camber gain and improving roll camber. They also increase caster for improved ride and handling. Detroit Speed’s upper control arms have been computer modeled and the components have undergone finite element analysis. The control arms have CNC stainless steel cross shafts which incorporate Detroit Speed’s ‘Caster Tuner Bushings’. These aluminum bushings adjust caster by moving the upper control arm fore/aft for more or less caster without adding alignment shims. This unique caster adjustment design is engineered to be precise and permanent. The upper control arms also utilize our designed bushings. These greaseable aluminum / Delrin™ bushings have an increased stiffness over stock. This provides more consistent and precise handling. The bushings also have CNC machined bevel stainless washers and stainless ny-lock nutsThe upper control arms have CNC machined tube ends for precision fits. The arms are then TIG welded in a fixture for accuracy and repeatability of geometry. The ball joint pocket is CNC machined from billet for increased strength. The arms are powder coated gloss black and come assembled with ball joints. Two sets of ‘Caster Tuner Bushings’ are included. The Detroit Speed upper control arms are ready to bolt on!

CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 WARNING
What is California Prop 65?
In 1986, California voters approved an initiative to address their growing concerns about exposure to toxic chemicals. That initiative became the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known by  its name of Proposition 65.
Recent changes to the law have updated the product labeling requirements for product sold in California. Warning labels must accompany any product that contains or may contain any of the chemicals appearing on the list administered by California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA).
What does this mean for the products in this catalog?
Proposition 65 imposes strict penalties for noncompliance and the list of chemicals is so expansive that it is cost-prohibitive for a small company to go through the individual testing process for each product that is offered. As a result, Detroit Speed & Engineering is taking a conservative approach and labeling all products with the warning as required by Proposition 65. This does not mean that we believe our products are harmful when used as designed.
Detroit Speed is committed to the safety and protection of our customers and will apply warning labels either on the product or the product packaging, of all products currently offered for sale. Detroit Speed products may contain one or more of the listed chemicals in a smaller amount than Proposition 65’s concern, or not at all, however we have chosen to issue this warning on all products as an act of extreme caution and because our customers have the right to know.
